Winston-Salem Street School

Winston-Salem-Street-School-Logo-Reverse-300x225The Winston-Salem Street School is a private alternative high school transforming the disenfranchised youth of the community into productive citizens. The students being served include those who have dropped out or been expelled from the public high school system in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County.

Approximately 800 students drop out of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools each year and that number is rising. The Winston-Salem Street School was specifically created to target these students. By doing so, it is playing a critical role in resolving this very real community problem. Since 2012, 320 students have earned a high school diploma recognized by the state of NC.

Faculty and staff are dedicated to the mission of surrounding students with caring, committed adults who will help students:

  • Achieve their highest academic level
  • Find and use information
  • Get along with others
  • Know themselves and their God
  • Learn independently
  • Solve problems
  • Think independently
  • Work hard
